On Wednesdays We Journal // 02
In last week’s On Wednesdays We Journal Post, I said I would share some of my favorite journal related things so let’s get into that first!
- Amazon – Journal Favorites
- these are some of my favorite items, but USE WHAT YOU HAVE
- YouTube – Ambience Favorites
- I added a little something special for my fellow Slytherins 💚🐍
Now let’s get into the journaling. I desperately need today’s journal session and, per usual, I cant wait to get started. The prompt in the journal I’m using is SO ON POINT that it’s scary. Divine timing, y’all – believe in it. On days like this when something has been weighing very heavy on my emotions, I can feel my shoulders creeping up as I write. That’s ok – I just remind myself to relax my shoulders and breathe. After journaling, (and in general) I like to do hip opening/hamstring stretches since I feel like that’s where I store a lot of pent up emotion. I use Peloton yoga but YouTube is FREE.
Let’s get started:
I went a bit more in depth with “how to play along” in my first On Wednesdays We Journal post so be sure to reference that if you have any questions. As a reminder, there is no wrong or right way to journal. I provide the following prompts as a way to jog your mind. You can use one, some, or none at all! Just DATE THE PAGE and write. This week’s journal prompts are:
- brain dump: what’s on your mind lately?
- creativity: what creative endeavors light your fire? how can you incorporate more creative fire in your life?
- self love: write about something you need to forgive yourself for. maybe you didn’t have the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities to deal with something. but you’re learning and teaching yourself to do better.
- gratitude: just write a bunch of things you are grateful for. bonus: write WHY you’re grateful for them.
Make it easy and doable, don’t complicate it, and most importantly: be nice to yourself. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and play along using the hashtag #OnWednesdaysWeJournal. Next week, I’ll be sharing my love for affirmations and how I incorporate them into journaling.
